Vehicle Fire Causes Delays at BWI Airport

Linthicum, Maryland – On April 7, X user Jeremy Willet posted a video showing a vehicle on fire at BWI Airport. The blaze sent heavy smoke near the main building.

He commented, “Fire at BWI airport. It appears it was a vehicle fire on the lower level terminal roadway.”

The incident disrupted vehicle traffic along Thurgood Marshall Baltimore-Washington International Airport’s lower-level terminal on Monday. The airport confirmed delays followed the fire.

Officials reported that the fire started around 2:10 p.m. near door 14 of the lower-level terminal, close to the baggage claim areas. The vehicle blaze was quickly put out.

By Monday evening, all lanes were fully reopened, restoring normal traffic flow to the area.
