Kagoshima, Japan – On September 12, 2025, U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Ospreys from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 262, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, flew alongside V-22 Ospreys from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and a U.S. Navy P-8A from Patrol Squadron 9 during exercise Resolute Dragon 25.
The aircraft conducted coordinated formation flights off the coast of Kagoshima, demonstrating joint operational capabilities and aerial coordination between U.S. and Japanese forces.
Resolute Dragon 25, an annual bilateral exercise in Japan, focuses on enhancing command, control, and multi-domain maneuver skills of III Marine Expeditionary Force Marines and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel.
The exercise emphasizes the ability to control and defend key maritime terrain, strengthening readiness and cooperation between the allied forces.
