Tacoma, Washington – Washington State Patrol troopers rescued a tiny kitten wandering on the shoulder of Interstate 95 near 96th after multiple 911 calls reported the stranded feline.

Body camera footage shows a trooper carefully reaching under a concrete highway barrier to retrieve the kitten, saying, “Aw, what a cutie,” as the kitten was lifted to safety.

The troopers took the kitten for a veterinary examination to ensure it was healthy.

The kitten has now found a permanent home with a trooper from WSP District 1, turning a tense situation on a busy highway into a heartwarming story.
