Brooklyn, New York – Video filmed by X user Mariah Rose Whitmoyer on October 30, 2025, around 3:53 p.m. captures heavy downpours flooding Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Lafayette Avenue.
Shot from inside a stalled MTA bus, the clip opens on calf-deep brown water sweeping the roadway as cars plow through, bow waves lashing rain-smeared windows.
Leafy trees whip in the wind while brick rowhouses and glowing traffic signals blur into halos through sheets of rain.
A red McDonald’s sign and distant storefronts appear faint through the haze as puddles join into fast-moving rivers and orange cones bob uselessly.
At the flooded stop, passengers in puffy jackets and hoods clamber aboard, sneakers sending up splashes across a red entry platform streaked with rivulets.
A yellow “CAUTION TWO STEPS” notice is visible above rubber treads now awash with water.
One still shows a young woman in a white sweater and black leggings mid-step through deep water, her arm raised as her reflection ripples beneath fire escapes.
Inside the bus, water seeps under the driver’s cab door and pools inches deep on black floormats.
