New York, New York – A dramatic rescue unfolded Sunday evening after a boat capsized in Jamaica Bay, leaving three people stranded in the water.
At approximately 6:45 p.m. on June 22, 2025, the NYPD’s Harbor Unit, Emergency Service Unit, Aviation Unit, and the FDNY responded to the scene near the 100th Precinct.
Two NYPD divers entered the water to rescue a 22-year-old woman and brought her safely to shore.
The FDNY rescued a 56-year-old man and a 30-year-old man using a boat.
A 34-year-old man managed to swim to shore on his own.
All four individuals declined medical attention and had no visible injuries.
No arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
