Manhattan, New York – On July 13, thousands of people filled the streets of Manhattan, New York, waiting to see a special sunset phenomenon where the sun aligns perfectly with the city’s east-west streets, creating a breathtaking view known locally as Manhattanhenge.
Video posted by X user NewYorkCityKopp shows crowds standing shoulder to shoulder, many holding cameras, waiting for the iconic view.
A spectacular sunset the day before had raised expectations. But thick clouds rolled in, blocking the sky and ruining the moment.
NewYorkCityKopp said: “No Manhattanhenge tonight due to cloud cover. A lot of disappointed people tonight.”
One by one, people left the streets, their chance at a once-a-year spectacle lost behind a wall of gray.
