El Paso County, Texas – A dramatic operation unfolded in West Texas as state aircraft and ground units joined forces to stop a Ford Mustang packed with eight individuals being smuggled.

On May 20, 2025, Texas Department of Public Safety aircraft supported the Texas Rangers Special Operations Group during a coordinated mission in El Paso County.

The Mustang, involved in human smuggling, was boxed in and stopped. The driver was immediately arrested.

Inside the car, officers discovered eight illegal immigrants.

The driver and all eight individuals were handed over to U.S. Border Patrol for federal prosecution.

This mission was part of Operation Lone Star, highlighting the coordination between air and ground forces to secure the border and disrupt criminal smuggling networks.
