Teen Saved in Bold Mountain Rescue in Spain

Spain – A 14-year-old girl was rescued near a high-altitude lake in Canfranc, Huesca, on Wednesday after suffering from exhaustion and dehydration, likely due to heatstroke.

The emergency call reached the 112 service around 2:30 PM, reporting the young hiker was dizzy and fatigued.

The Guardia Civil quickly deployed the Jaca Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (Greim) and the Huesca Air Unit, with 061 medical personnel.

They found the girl in a remote, rugged area and airlifted her by helicopter to Jaca, where she was treated at the local hospital.

Her condition stabilized, but the incident underscores the risks of hiking in extreme heat, particularly for young adventurers.

The Guardia Civil advises caution in mountainous areas, stressing the importance of hydration and preparation to avoid such emergencies.
