Norfolk, Virginia – On June 6, the USS Gettysburg (CG 64) returned to Naval Station Norfolk after an eight-month deployment.
The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser deployed with the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group.
The strike group operated across the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operations.
During the deployment, they conducted combat operations in the Red Sea and exercises with NATO Allies.
The group completed more than 13,000 sorties and logged 25,000 flight hours.
Their ships sailed over 240,000 nautical miles in total.
