Northern California – The TCU September Lightning Complex Fire has destroyed 95 structures and damaged seven more across the fire zone, with destruction concentrated in multiple areas.
Fire crews continue battling hot spots as containment reaches 72% as of Monday. The blaze has affected communities across Tuolumne, Calaveras, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin counties.
Power has returned in some areas, but many homes remain uninhabitable. Several properties have been red-tagged by local building departments, with notices including contact numbers for residents.
Amid the devastation, community hubs have opened to support displaced residents. Organizations such as the Red Cross are providing food, water, clothing, and other essentials. Donations of tents and trailers are being requested to shelter families who lost their homes.
Some properties remain standing, but many residents return to find charred ruins. Families are salvaging belongings and rescuing animals wherever possible. Evacuees are also seeking community donations and assistance to recover.
Officials and community members emphasize the ongoing need for support as residents plan to rebuild. Local shelters and hotels continue offering free stays for evacuees while fire crews work to fully contain the complex.
