Tucson, Arizona – A 19-year-old student was arrested inside a classroom at Rincon High School after allegedly flashing a gun and threatening a classmate during summer school.
The incident happened on June 2, during a brief argument in a school bathroom. Police say Valente Lazaro Zambrano pulled up his pant leg to reveal a handgun hidden near his ankle.
The student who was threatened immediately reported the incident.
Body-cam video released by Tucson police shows armed officers entering a classroom, where Zambrano was sitting among other students. The faces of the students in the footage were blurred.
Zambrano was quickly removed from the classroom and searched.
Officers recovered a handgun loaded with a magazine of 10 live rounds, hidden exactly where the victim had described.
Zambrano was booked into Pima County jail on suspicion of felony disorderly conduct with a weapon.
His bond was set at $50,000.
