Storm Unleashes Flood Catastrophe In Northern Argentina Town

Vera, Santa Fe, Argentina – On May 27th, Gustavo M. Alfaro posted a video showing flooding caused by a storm in Vera, in the north of the Santa Fe province.

Alfaro stated that more than 400 millimeters of rain were recorded in just over six hours. The information was shared during an interview with Paula Mitre, the mayor of Vera.

According to Mitre, the local government established three evacuation centers. Classes were suspended due to the storm.

Firefighters from Calchaquí, Reconquista, Malabrigo, and Tostado responded to the situation.

Mayor Mitre described the rainfall event as a hydric catastrophe. More than 100 people were evacuated from affected areas.
