Spectacular Fireball Seen Over Ciudad Real And Other Regions In Spain

Ciudad Real, Spain – A large fireball was seen crossing the sky on the night of April 15, 2025, at 22:05 local time.

The fireball was recorded from several locations, including Arroyomolinos, Estepa, and Navianos de Valverde.

Analysis shows that the fireball was part of the Lyrid meteor shower.

In Estepa, the final disintegration of the meteoroid was visible as it broke apart west of Ciudad Real, near the border of Caceres.

In Zamora, the fireball was also seen, although the brightness was reduced due to the long distance of more than 350 kilometers from the detection station.

The event drew attention across southern and central Spain due to its intensity and wide visibility.
