Spain – Spanish and Italian firefighting aircraft are working together to combat severe wildfires across Spain, demonstrating international cooperation through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

Footage shows a Spanish aircraft flying over fields before multiple planes skim lakes to refill their tanks. The aircraft then release water over burning forests, producing thick smoke and steam, highlighting the scale and intensity of the firefighting efforts.

EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid emphasized Spain is not facing the crisis alone. “Spanish and Italian firefighting airplanes are on the frontline, alongside many other teams sent via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. Together, we continue the fight against the blaze.”

The collaborative operation underscores the commitment of European partners to support Spain in managing one of the country’s most challenging wildfire seasons.
