Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah – Early-season snow has transformed Utah’s Little Cottonwood Canyon into a winter landscape, prompting the activation of the Traction Law on SR-210.
Footage from UDOT Cottonwood Canyons on October 16, 2025, shows light flurries settling on misty peaks and white-dusted pines under foggy skies. The canyon appears deserted, with no vehicles or people in sight, highlighting the calm yet wintry conditions.
A flashing yellow sign reads, “TRACTION LAW IN EFFECT WHEN FLASHING,” alongside an amber LED warning, “CHAINS AWD REQUIRED,” near a red shed and buried posts. While the snow adds beauty, it also brings caution for motorists navigating the winding canyon roads.
UDOT advises travelers to be prepared for slippery conditions and ensure their vehicles comply with traction requirements.
