Salt Lake City, Utah – The Utah Department of Transportation Cottonwood Canyons division issued a weather forecast and travel tips for SR-190 and SR-210.
Through 6 p.m. on April 17, periods of snow were expected, with the heaviest snowfall in the late morning until 2 p.m. Up to 5 inches of road snow was predicted in the upper canyons.
Through 6 a.m. on April 18, snow showers were possible during the night, with 2 to 3 inches near resorts and about 1 inch in lower canyon areas.
Travelers on SR-190 and SR-210 were advised to check resort parking status before heading out. Proper traction devices were recommended for vehicles.
Drivers were urged to use winter driving skills, keep a full tank of gas, and always park to the right of the white line.
Authorities reminded the public that spring storms are unpredictable and can cause very slick roads. They advised everyone to use caution and slow down.
