Webb County, Texas – On April 11, 2025, a smuggler in a Dodge Avenger led TxDPS Troopers on a high-speed vehicle pursuit.

The driver, identified as Robert Eleazar Espinoza, 21, from Laredo, lost control and crashed, disabling the vehicle. Six occupants, including Espinoza, bailed out after the crash.

With the assistance of USBP and CBPAMO, five illegal immigrants from Mexico and Espinoza were apprehended.

Troopers charged Espinoza with smuggling of persons and evading arrest. The five illegal immigrants were referred to the US Border Patrol.
