Urgel, Spain – On July 1st, X user Naomi shared a frightening timelapse video capturing the massive smoke clouds from a fire that started in Torrefeta and Florejacs.

The thick plumes of smoke reached Urgel, darkening the skies above the area.

“The smoke has reached Urgel,” Naomi reported.

According to provisional data from Agents Rurals, the fire in Torrefeta and Florejacs (Segarra) affects an area of around 1,000 hectares.

Earlier estimates put the burned area at approximately 80 hectares, mostly agricultural land.
