Las Vegas, Nevada – A dramatic video shared on June 25 by Matthew Villasist shows an American Airlines passenger jet flying overhead with its right engine on fire.

The footage quickly gained attention online as smoke poured from the engine while the plane continued flying.

The aircraft was headed from Las Vegas to Charlotte, North Carolina.

The F.A.A. confirmed that the crew reported an engine issue shortly after takeoff.

The plane turned around and landed safely back in Las Vegas.

No injuries were reported.
