School Bus Aide Attacks 9-Year-Old Girl in Port St. Lucie

Port St. Lucie, Florida – A school bus aide is facing serious backlash after being caught on camera allegedly attacking a nine-year-old student with special needs.

The incident, recorded by the girl’s older sister on a cellphone, has led to charges against the aide, identified as Avieser Pinillos.

In the video, Pinillos appears to shake and scream at the girl, with the bus’s surveillance camera also capturing the troubling scene.

Chief Leo Niemczyk of the Port St. Lucie Police Department called the behavior aggressive and violent, stating, “He clearly lost his temper, and it’s completely unacceptable.”

Court documents reveal a witness said Pinillos gave the girl one command to sit before the situation escalated physically.

The same witness noted this wasn’t the first incident between Pinillos and the girl, though it was more severe than past encounters.

Police say the girl had red marks on her neck and shoulders but no serious injuries.

Chief Niemczyk added, “Any reasonable adult would feel angry seeing one of our most vulnerable members of society victimized in that way.”

Pinillos now faces one count of child abuse and has been removed from his role by the St. Lucie County School District.

The district is also considering terminating him permanently.

“I think it would make any parent feel angry,” Chief Niemczyk said, reflecting on the video taken last week on a Northport K-8 school bus.
