Sakurajima Explosive Eruption Reaches 1800m

Sakurajima, Japan – A powerful explosion rocked Sakurajima volcano on March 23 at 05:55. The eruption sent a plume of ash and smoke soaring 1800 meters above the crater.

This marked the 43rd explosive eruption of the year for the active volcano. The plume height of 1800 meters was recorded by local monitoring stations.
