Russian Emergency Teams Blast Ice on Sim River in Chelyabinsk Region

Chelyabinsk Region, Russia – Emergency teams in Russia carried out two more controlled explosions on the ice covering the Sim River. The blasts targeted 250 square meters of ice to prevent flooding.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MCH) has deployed a task force to the area. They are working to pump water out of flooded garden houses and surrounding lands.

Efforts are ongoing to manage the situation. The teams aim to reduce the risk of further flooding as ice continues to pose a threat in the region.
