Moscow, Russia – Employees of Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) are ensuring the safe passage of spring floods. In 11 regions, floodwaters still affect 107 residential homes, 310 household plots, 48 low-water bridges, and 39 road sections.
Over the past day, water receded from 21 residential and 81 dacha homes, 209 household plots, 8 low-water bridges, and 5 road sections. MES rescuers are conducting preventive measures and monitoring the situation, including with drones.
In flooded areas, they provide targeted aid, organize boat crossings, and deliver food and essentials. In Chelyabinsk Oblast’s Asha city, the Sim River’s water level dropped after blasting operations, channel diversions, and riverbed clearing.
There, 21 private homes, 81 garden houses, and 121 household plots were freed from water in a day. Twelve people are in temporary shelters, while mobile rescue teams helped 45 residents pump out water. A total of 164 specialists and 41 units of equipment are deployed.
In the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Inzer River’s rising waters flooded homes and plots in Azovo village. Across the region, 106 homes and 245 plots remain underwater, though 27 plots dried out in the last day.
Rescuers evacuated 127 people, including 20 children, with 50 now in shelters. MES teams are delivering food, while pyrotechnics used 600 kg of explosives in 20 blasting operations to manage ice movement. More blasting is planned today on the Ay River. Ninety-nine staff and 42 units of equipment are on-site.
