Royal Thai Army Sets Up Beds in Rajavithi Hospital Gymnasium as Temporary Hospital After Earthquake

Bangkok, Thailand – On March 28, 2025, at 9:45 p.m., the Royal Thai Army deployed 45 personnel from the 12th Signal Battalion to assist Rajavithi Hospital. They moved medical equipment and patient beds into the hospital’s gymnasium, now a temporary hospital.

This temporary hospital now serves about 200 patients. It was set up after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Bangkok on March 28, 2025, overwhelming the hospital with injured people and necessitating extra treatment space.

The army also provided vehicles to move around 30 patients to Rajavithi Hospital 2 (Rangsit) in Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province. This helps handle the earthquake’s casualty surge.

The effort, led by the Army Public Relations Center, was announced by the army spokesperson team on March 28, 2025. It shows the army aiding healthcare post-earthquake.
