Residents Evacuated In Makkaveevo After River Flooding From Heavy Rains

Makkaveevo, Russia – Residents are being evacuated in the village of Makkaveevo due to rising water levels in the Ungur River caused by heavy rains.

Flooding has affected 15 household plots, and water has entered the basements of two homes.

Heavy machinery is being used to divert the water by building up soil barriers.

Thirty Russian Emergency Ministry rescuers and eight units of equipment, including watercraft, are assisting the population on site.

An operational headquarters has been set up, and authorities prepared a temporary shelter, but the evacuees chose to stay with relatives.
