Montanejos, Spain – Emergency teams were mobilized to assist three people stuck while canyoning in La Maimona.
The hikers reported they had reached a point where they could not continue. They were in good condition, and their location was confirmed. The operation was coordinated by the Parque Alto Palancia unit.
Later, an update confirmed that a woman in the group had suffered a foot injury. The URM team of BombersDipcas and the HC rescue unit of GVA112 were deployed.
An aerial extraction was carried out for all three individuals. Two women and one man were airlifted from the canyon.
They were transported to the helipad in Montanejos. Authorities reminded the public to exercise caution during mountain activities, plan routes carefully, and carry proper equipment.
