California, USA – On December 10, 2025, a U.S. Air Force HH-60W Jolly Green II rescue helicopter was refueled in mid-air by an HC-130J Combat King II off the coast of California during Exercise Steel Knight 25.

The operation demonstrated the precise coordination needed to safely transport joint personnel and equipment in support of the exercise’s objectives.

Steel Knight 25 is a joint military drill designed to improve interoperability, boost readiness, and enhance coordination across the battle space.
