Eatonville, Washington – A prickly star stole the show at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park on May 12.
Thistle the porcupine was caught on camera pausing his maple snack for an important task — a good, satisfying scratch.
After a thorough scritching session, Thistle topped it off with a dramatic shake of his coat right at the camera.
The park shared the video, explaining that porcupine quills are modified hairs that naturally shed over time — just like human hair.
So while Thistle might have looked like he was showing off, he was really just shedding in style.
