Police Save Cat With Chest Compressions After Gas Poisoning In La Palma Volcano Crisis

La Palma Spain – National Police officers deployed during the post-eruption period rescued a cat suffering from gas poisoning in Puerto Naos, an area still evacuated due to the volcanic activity.

The cat, named Félix, was found unconscious on a rooftop. The police subsoil unit carried Félix to a terrace of a nearby bar and placed him on a table.

Officers performed chest compressions while holding an oxygen bottle nozzle near Félix’s mouth. They also gave him water.

A video released by the police shows Félix fully recovered by the end, a relief to local residents who know the cat well.

Similar rescues have happened during the eruption crisis. A military emergency unit member revived another unconscious cat in the La Laguna neighborhood and later adopted it.
