Aktobe Region, Kazakhstan – On March 17, melting snow caused the Bala Qobda River in Aktobe Region to overflow, stranding horses from Bulak village in the middle of the river. The strong current posed a danger to the animals.
After seeing villagers pleading for help in a WhatsApp group chat, local police inspector Beksultan Qylyshbaev noticed the situation. He quickly contacted the horses’ owner and offered his assistance.
On March 18, Beksultan brought his rubber boat and joined the owner to rescue the animals. When they arrived, they found the horses scattered across the water, separated by the flood.
The rescue operation lasted four hours. In the end, the horses were pulled from the water and safely returned to their owner.
