Fort Wayne, Indiana – At 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4th, a structure fire broke out at 3700 S. Hanna Street.
Fort Wayne Police Department officers responded quickly and found a detached garage completely engulfed in flames. The fire was rapidly spreading to nearby buildings.
Officers Diaz, Williams, and Bell immediately began evacuating residents from the surrounding homes.
During the evacuation, they saw a dog kennel on fire with dogs trapped inside. The kennel was locked.
Without hesitation and at great personal risk, the officers forced the kennel open and rescued the dogs from the blaze.
Their swift actions prevented further tragedy and ensured the safety of both people and animals.
