Police Dog Pulling Suspect From Under Deck During Dramatic Chase

Olympia, Washington — Early morning on May 24th, a citizen flagged down K9 Igo and his handler, alerting them to an armed drug dealer driving in the West Olympia area.

K9 Igo and his handler attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired tabs since 2022, but the driver fled.

A high-speed pursuit followed, reaching speeds of 100 mph near Evergreen State College. The driver crashed into a tree in a nearby neighborhood, then ran on foot.

K9 Igo located the suspect hiding under a deck. Despite numerous warnings, the suspect refused to crawl out and instead searched his pockets and waistband.

The dog was deployed and pulled the suspect from under the deck, after which the suspect was arrested.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded .357 magnum. The suspect, a three-time convicted felon with a history of crimes across multiple states, was not allowed to carry a firearm. He also had an active warrant for communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

The suspect sustained minor injuries from the dog bite and was booked into the TCSO jail on charges of attempting to elude, unlawful possession of a firearm, and hit and run.
