Houston, Texas – The Houston Police Department is seeking the public’s help after a man was assaulted and robbed at a hotel following a large poker win.

On Friday, August 1, 2025, at approximately 5:40 a.m., two unknown males entered the lobby of a hotel on the 5300 block of Westheimer. They approached the complainant, who had just arrived after winning a significant sum of money at a private social club on the 6100 block of Westheimer.

The suspects forced the man to the ground using an unknown object, stole his personal belongings, and fled to a waiting white four-door sedan, entering the vehicle from the right-side passenger doors before speeding away.

Authorities believe the complainant may have been specifically targeted and followed after his poker winnings. The suspects are described as two Black males, one wearing a black shirt and black shorts, the other wearing a black shirt and black pants.
