Llano, Texas – Central Texas faced renewed weather warnings and road closures on Sunday morning, July 13, after deadly flooding returned to the region.

The National Weather Service issued flood alerts for areas near the Lampasas River after the river surged 33 feet in only four hours. By 3:15 am, up to 6 inches of rain had already fallen across Lampasas County.

More rain and storms began forming again later in the morning, intensifying the threat of further flooding.

Video shared by the Llano Police Department shows Pecan Creek transformed into a violent torrent, filmed from Texas State Highway 29 West. The water can be seen rushing furiously as rainfall continues to batter the area.
