Paratroopers Storm Arctic Skies In Bold Joint Force Drop Over Norway

Bardufoss, Norway – U.S. Army paratroopers from the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, conducted a dramatic Joint Force Entry on May 13, 2025.

They were joined by Hungarian and Norwegian paratroopers in a high-intensity integrated training mission during Swift Response.

The exercise unfolded over the icy terrain of Bardufoss as part of DEFENDER 25, a large-scale multinational military operation.

Swift Response is one of the key supporting exercises within DEFENDER 25.

It showcases the U.S. Army’s ability to rapidly deploy combat forces from the U.S. to Europe and the Arctic region.

The mission also strengthens military coordination between U.S. troops and forces from 29 Allied and partner nations.

DEFENDER 25 spans from May 11 to June 24, 2025, focusing on large-scale combat training and enhancing readiness.

This bold maneuver demonstrated global deterrence and the power of strategic military alliances in action.
