Grand Forks, USA – A paraglider’s terrifying crash into the Red River was captured on video after the pilot struck a power line on July 8.

The dramatic footage, recorded by Grand Forks resident Dusty Howlett (@LaughingWithoutSmiling), shows the electric paramotor sparking on impact before the paraglider plunged into the water.

Howlett, who was nearby at the time, reported that the pilot was conscious and waving while still in the river. The pilot communicated until emergency crews arrived.

Rescue teams pulled the paraglider from the water unharmed.
