Preston, Washington – Two brothers were arrested after leading Washington State troopers on a high-speed chase along I-90. The pursuit began when troopers attempted to stop 21-year-old Victor A. Hernandez-Paredes for improperly merging near Preston, but he refused to stop.
Dashcam footage shows Victor speeding away, but as troopers followed, his brother, 18-year-old Daniel O. Hernandez-Paredes, drove a silver Infiniti G37 in front of the patrol car, attempting to block the pursuit. The chase reached speeds over 100 mph as Daniel swerved to impede the troopers.
Eventually, the first car, driven by Victor, spun out on an off-ramp. The Infiniti then blocked troopers before speeding off again. Victor’s car made a dangerous U-turn, driving the wrong way up the off-ramp and hitting patrol cars.
Dashcam video shows the suspect speeding against traffic on westbound I-90. The trooper slowed down traffic ahead of the vehicle, and the suspect lost control, landing in a ditch. Officers later found a woman and child in Victor’s car but thankfully no one was injured.
Victor Hernandez-Paredes was arrested for felony eluding, reckless endangerment, obstruction, and DUI. Meanwhile, Daniel was arrested after the pursuit was tracked and the brothers were detained by Seattle police. Daniel faces felony eluding, reckless driving, and obstruction charges.
