Ford Heights, Illinois – A routine moment on the road turned dramatic when a woman began choking while driving, forcing her to swerve to the side of the road.
Surveillance video from an intersection captured the woman rolling onto the curb, jumping from her car, and clutching at her chest in distress.
Officer Zachary Finn of the Cook County Sheriff’s Office happened to be nearby and quickly pulled behind her. Spotting her emergency, he immediately performed the Heimlich maneuver, successfully clearing her airway within moments.
Paramedics were called but the woman declined further care. Officer Finn reported she was able to safely continue driving on her own.
