A Diario de un Bombero report describes the challenging conditions for firefighting crews. “Impotencia, turno presencial Brif Laza se tiene que retirar por llegar a las 14 horas de trabajo…el incendio aproximándose a Retorta,” the firefighter wrote, highlighting the exhaustion and difficulty of containing the blaze.

Authorities positioned teams in Pepín, where embers from Retorta threatened to spread, using technical fire methods to defend the area. The situation underscores the ongoing danger as crews work to protect the surrounding communities and vegetation.
