Multi-Structure Fire Erupts Near SW 8 Street In Miami-Dade County

Miami-Dade County, Florida – On Sunday, July 27, at approximately 8:38 p.m., more than 30 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to a major fire involving multiple structures near the 37700 Block of SW 8 Street.

When crews arrived, several buildings were already fully engulfed in flames, with fire spreading to nearby vehicles. Firefighters began immediate efforts to put out the blaze while protecting other nearby structures.

Air rescue was dispatched to assist by conducting aerial reconnaissance to support firefighting operations.

As a precaution, people in surrounding buildings were evacuated, and officials confirmed that everyone was safely accounted for.

Due to strong winds spreading embers and the presence of exposed power lines, additional help was called in, and the incident was upgraded to a Third Alarm.

The fire was eventually brought under control, but units stayed on the scene overnight and into the morning to monitor for any lingering hot spots.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
