Arizona, April 29, 2025 – The Stronghold Fire is currently estimated at 2,000 acres with no containment reported. The fire has moved into the Dragoons and Coronado National Forest on the west and south sides.
Ground resources are still working on the fire, with additional resources expected for Tuesday morning. Aircraft worked on the south flank of the fire for most of the afternoon but had to be grounded due to high winds. Aircraft remain on standby for tomorrow. A total of 246 personnel are assigned to the fire.
According to Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, the “GO” and “SET” evacuation orders are still in effect for some residences. Stronghold Canyon-area campgrounds and trailheads are closed due to the ongoing threat.
