Massive Fire In Silla Halts Road And Rail Traffic Across Valencia Region

Silla, Spain – A massive fire in the municipality of Silla, Valencia, has forced the suspension of both road and rail traffic after breaking out at a recycling plant near key transport routes.

The fire erupted near the V-31 highway and next to the train tracks connecting Valencia with the southern metropolitan area.

Thick black smoke rose into the air, creating a dense column visible from a wide area.

Due to the proximity of the blaze, both the V-31 road and railway lines were shut down.

Train services on the Cercanías lines to Xàtiva, Mioxent, and Gandía were affected, along with medium and long-distance services between Valencia and southern regions.

Eight fire units from the Valencia Provincial Firefighters Consortium were deployed to the scene.

Local police cordoned off the area for safety, while additional support arrived from fire stations in Silla, Torrent, Catarroja, Burjassot, Paterna, and Alzira.

The operation also involved a sergeant, a sector chief, and an officer as firefighting teams worked to contain the blaze.
