Okinawa, Japan – U.S. Marines participated in underwater egress training at the Camp Hansen aquatic center on May 1, 2025.
The training involved Marines from the 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, part of the III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group.
This exercise is designed to prepare personnel for emergencies that may occur during water landings in military aircraft.
Marines practiced escaping from simulated submerged aircraft. The training helps improve reaction time and safety during real-life incidents.
The underwater egress certification ensures Marines are ready for missions that involve amphibious or aerial operations over water.
