Apollo Beach, Florida – The Marine Unit of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded after two men and their dog went missing aboard a 25-foot sailboat on September 16, 2025.

Deputies searched the area near Apollo Beach, taking into account tide and wind direction, before locating the vessel adrift in the Shipping Channel just north of the Skyway Bridge.

The sailboat, along with its occupants, was safely towed back to Bishop Harbor. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
