Man Tries to Stab His Own Dog During Arrest in Vancouver Police Incident

Vancouver, Washington – Police officers in Vancouver rescued a dog during the arrest of its owner.

Officers went to the Meadow Homes neighborhood to arrest a man wanted on multiple warrants.

As they approached, the man grabbed his dog and ran across several lanes of traffic to escape.

The dog then acted aggressively toward the officers, lunging and snarling.

The suspect was ordered to surrender, but he pulled out a knife and tried to stab his dog.

An officer fired a taser, hitting the suspect and causing him to drop the knife.

The suspect was arrested and booked on charges including resisting arrest, obstructing law enforcement, animal cruelty, and outstanding warrants.

Animal Control took custody of the dog after police secured it in a patrol car.

The suspect’s identity has not been released.
