Man Flies Through Air In Stolen Car Before Crashing Into Pond Ending High Speed Chase

Bradenton Florida – A stolen car carrying its driver flew through the air before crashing into a pond, ending a dramatic police chase Wednesday night in Manatee County.

Deputies spotted 27-year-old Brendarius Pittman driving a stolen Kia Sorento around 2:30 AM near the 900 block of Manatee Avenue West.

Despite attempts to stop him with stop sticks, Pittman kept fleeing.

The chase moved through southern Manatee County and onto University Parkway.

At a sharp curve, Pittman lost control and the car went airborne.

Both the car and Pittman flew through the air and landed in a retention pond near Sarasota-Bradenton Airport.

Pittman jumped out of the partially submerged vehicle and was immediately taken into custody.

He now faces charges including Grand Theft Auto, Driving With a Suspended License, Fleeing to Elude, and Possession of Marijuana.
