Late Night Fire Destroys Home in Joshua Tree

Joshua Tree, California – On April 3 at 9:37 PM, crews from the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District responded to reports of a residential structure fire on the 5100 block of Sunburst Street in Joshua Tree.

Firefighters arrived to find a single-family home engulfed in flames. The blaze had caused a partial roof collapse, downed a live power line in the driveway, and was threatening a large propane tank nearby.

A Cal Fire engine from Yucca Valley joined the effort to combat the fire. Four engine companies and one battalion chief worked together to stop the blaze from spreading to neighboring homes.

The fire was extinguished in 32 minutes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among firefighters or civilians.

The Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time.

The incident occurred on Thursday, April 3, at 9:27 PM, at the 5100 block of Sunburst Street in Joshua Tree.
