Landslides And Flooding Devastate Montserrat Roads And Infrastructure

Montserrat, Spain – Video filmed by X user PN Montserrat shows severe landslides and flooding in the mountainous area of Montserrat on September 21, 2025.

Captured from an elevated viewpoint, the footage reveals steep cliffs and dense vegetation disrupted by water carrying debris down the slopes. Large sections of the hillside have eroded, and a narrow road has collapsed or been washed away, leaving it impassable.

A few people and vehicles are seen near the damaged road, showing the human impact. Trees and greenery are partially submerged or uprooted, and a building with a red roof and a railway track have also been affected.

The 23-second video highlights the extensive damage to terrain, roads, and infrastructure caused by the storm, isolating the area and posing major challenges for residents and travelers.

PN Montserrat added that the heavy downpours were visible at the lower station of the Montserrat Rack Railway and Funiculars, as well as along the path to the Santa Cova.
