Kayak Navigates Flooded Streets As Hurricane Erin Slams Avalon

Avalon, New Jersey, USA – A video filmed by X user Philly Storm Chaser Mark shows severe coastal flooding likely caused by Hurricane Erin, with water overwhelming a residential street.

The footage captures homes on both sides partially surrounded by floodwaters as the road disappears beneath the rising tide. A person in a kayak is seen paddling down the submerged street, maneuvering through the waterlogged neighborhood.

Nearby, several individuals stand on higher ground, watching the flooding and assessing the situation as the kayak continues its path through the inundated area.

As the video progresses, a vehicle drives through the water, creating ripples and waves that clash with the kayak’s route. The flood level reaches the steps of houses, leaving parked cars and utility poles partially submerged.
