Atlanterra, Spain – A wildfire is raging near a beach in an urban area, with towering flames and dense smoke sweeping across the dry landscape. Filmed by X user Ximenex from a high vantage point, likely a building, the scene shows the blaze alarmingly close to residential buildings and hotels.

The fire has forced the evacuation of more than 2,000 people from the Atlanterra urbanisation, including homes, hotels, and the Playa de los Alemanes. Authorities say the rapid spread is fueled by an intense heatwave and strong levante winds.

Cultural heritage sites are also in danger, as the flames threaten nearby caves containing valuable rupestrian paintings.

Some evacuees have been left without shelter, spending the night in the open or at a local school in Zahara de los Atunes.
